We wanted more people to have access to the places we love.
Our team has spent years in the places most people only see in photographs. Alpine huts in winter. Backcountry camps on remote rivers. Coastal cliffs where the only accommodation option was whatever you could carry in. We love those places — and we kept coming back to the same thought: why can’t more people experience this?
The answer, almost always, was shelter. The locations existed. The demand existed. But there was nothing on the market that could put comfortable, reliable accommodation into these environments without permanent infrastructure, massive capital investment, or compromising the landscape that made the location special in the first place.
On one end of the market, you had bell tents and canvas structures that looked great on a calm day but couldn’t survive a serious storm, needed flat prepared ground, and fell apart after a few seasons of commercial use. On the other end, you had permanent cabins and pods that cost six figures, required council approvals, and locked operators into a fixed location whether it worked or not.
Nothing in between. Nothing that was genuinely portable, genuinely tough, and genuinely ready for commercial deployment on day one.
So we built it.
The Rugged Glamp was designed from the ground up by a team with direct experience across outdoor hospitality, product design, and commercial manufacturing — and, just as importantly, by people who actually use this kind of product in the field. Every decision was shaped by real conditions, real terrain, and a genuine belief that opening up access to extraordinary places is worth doing properly.

We don’t build to a price point. We build to a standard — and the standard is this: a Rugged Glamp should handle the worst conditions your site can throw at it, season after season, without requiring specialist maintenance or replacement parts you can’t source in the field.
Our team has been caught in alpine storms, woken up in tents pooled with condensation, and spent nights in shelters that weren’t built for the conditions they were sold into. Those experiences aren’t just background — they’re the reason every part of this product exists the way it does.
The Floor
This is our lead differentiator. An integrated, insulated floor frame system with adjustable self-levelling feet. No prepared pad, no concrete slab, no earthworks. You deploy on the ground as it is — uneven, sloped, soft, or rocky. The floor is what makes the Rugged Glamp a genuine go-anywhere system, not just a tent with good marketing.
The Frame
A modularised aluminium exo-skeleton. Lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and designed so that any individual component can be replaced in the field without specialist tools. If a section is damaged, you swap the part — you don’t replace the tent.
The Shell
A dual-layer system. The outer shell handles heavy rain, snow, wind, and UV. The inner liner manages condensation, temperature, and guest comfort. The air gap between them is intentional — it’s what makes the system work across tropical coasts, alpine ridgelines, and everything in between.
The Pack-Down
The entire tent packs into a self-contained, stackable system optimised for sea container transport. A full fleet fits in a single container. Off-season storage takes up a fraction of the space the deployed tent occupies.

The Rugged Glamp is designed and engineered in Australia by a team whose experience spans coastal, alpine, tropical, and arid environments across multiple continents. Our product development, material selection, prototyping, and quality standards are set by the people who will stand behind the product when it’s deployed in the harshest conditions an operator can find.
Manufacturing is handled by specialist production partners, selected for their capability in aluminium fabrication, technical textiles, and high-volume production of commercial-grade outdoor structures. We maintain direct oversight of every production run — from raw material sourcing through to final quality inspection — because our name is on the product and our operators are trusting it with their livelihoods.
We’re transparent about this because we think it matters. The “where” of manufacturing is less important than the “how” — and the how is rigorous. Our supply chain is held to high standards on material quality, manufacturing tolerance, and ethical production practices.
What it’s made of matters.
